Several common construction methods for TPO waterproof membrane

Using specialized screws with washers or pressure strips, the waterproof membrane is fixed to the roof structural slab, such as concrete, steel plate, or wood paneling. The fixing components are covered under the waterproof membrane. Then, hot air welding is used to form a complete waterproof system on the roof.

This method is easy to perform detailed processing, has strong wind load resistance, high overall cost-effectiveness, and is lightweight. It is suitable for concrete roofs, light steel roofs, aluminum panel roofs, and wood panel roofs.

The membrane is completely bonded to the substrate using adhesive. Overlapping edges are connected using hot air welding.

Suitable for roofs with relatively complex structures. It has the advantages of strong wind load resistance and full adhesion to prevent water seepage. It is commonly used for concrete roofs and light steel roofs using rigid insulation boards.

The waterproofing membrane is only fixed around the perimeter using adhesive or metal strips; the rest is unsecured. The membrane sections are joined using hot air welding, relying on the upper load to resist wind buoyancy.

Adaptable to various substrates, fast installation, and low cost. Suitable for green roofs, drive-through roofs, accessible roofs, and non-accessible roofs with cobblestones or precast blocks as a coping.

The waterproofing membrane is directly laid loosely on the subgrade. Overlapping edges are connected using adhesive or hot air welding. After installation, reinforcement bars can be tied and concrete poured directly, eliminating the need for a protective layer.

This method allows the waterproofing layer to fully adhere to the structural layer, providing reliable waterproofing without the need for a protective layer. It saves construction costs and time, and is suitable for basement floors and side walls where there is no construction space.
